Art and photography have always been an interest of mine ever since high school, around 2006, when I learned darkroom photography. I started on film and learned how to hand-develop film in pitch darkness, enlarge and print in the traditional red-light darkroom and take photos with an oatmeal canister. AN OATMEAL CANISTER. You heard that right!
Back then, it wasn’t really common to make a living off of creativity, so I went off to college to study Kinesiology and eventually found myself working in higher education. Flash forward to 2016, when I saw other creatives HUSTLE. I started photographing graduating seniors at UNC Charlotte (my alma mater) and things just took off from there!
If I could summarize my style in 3 words, it would be: Simple. Neutral. Classic.
What can you expect? I am a natural-light photographer, meaning I love to photograph outside during golden hour. This means our sessions will take place either during sunrise or sunset (mostly likely sunset, unless you’re up for the challenge of waking up early). I dabble in studio work as well and have some exciting plans in the works for the future, but for now let’s plan to meet outside!
I like to think of my style as “light and moody”. I love contrasting shadows, but also the brightness of pops of white and neutrals. I also love a classic black and white photograph and any excuse to get all dressed up — even if it’s “just because” :)
No matter the size of your victory, I hope we get a chance to work together. If for some reason things don’t work out right now, I hope our paths will cross again in the future!
